Working Agreement

Training policies

Clear expectations make for calm sessions. These are the terms we work under. Please read them before your first session.

01

Weather

Outdoor sessions depend on conditions being safe for you and your dog. In the event of lightning, extreme heat, heavy rain, or a named storm, I will contact you as early as possible to reschedule or move the session indoors or online.

Weather cancellations made by me are never charged and are always rescheduled at no cost.

02

Health & vaccines

All dogs must be up to date on core vaccinations appropriate to their age, or following a vaccination schedule agreed on with your veterinarian. Puppies in the Puppy Foundation Program are welcome before their series is complete. We will socialize using low-risk methods discussed with your vet.

Please do not bring a dog to a session if they are showing signs of illness, including coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, or lethargy. Let me know, and we will reschedule at no charge.

03

Communication

I respond to every inquiry personally, Monday through Saturday. Messages received on Sundays are answered the following Monday.

Between sessions, you are welcome to email questions about your training plan. For anything urgent or medical, please contact your veterinarian first.

04

Cancellations

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full, as the time has been reserved for you.

Emergencies happen. If something genuinely unexpected comes up, tell me. I would much rather work with you than charge you.

05

Missed sessions & make-ups

If you are running late, the session will still end at its scheduled time so the next client is not affected. If I am running late, you receive the full session time regardless.

Missed sessions within a multi-week program may be made up where scheduling allows. Please arrange make-ups within the program’s original window.

06

Program drops

If you need to withdraw from a multi-week program, contact me as soon as possible. Sessions already delivered are non-refundable; remaining sessions may be refunded or credited depending on how far into the program you are.

If a program is not the right fit for your dog, I will say so and help you find what is.

07

Liability waiver

Dog training carries inherent risk. Dogs are living animals, and their behavior cannot be guaranteed. By booking a session, you accept responsibility for your dog’s behavior and for any injury or damage your dog may cause during or as a result of training.

You remain responsible for your dog’s health and safety at all times. Training is not a substitute for veterinary care. A signed waiver is provided before the first session.

Pet Sitting & Dog Walking

Pet Sitting Terms and Agreement

Description of services

I provide in-home pet care tailored to your pet’s individual needs. Basic services include feeding, fresh water, exercise, affection, and an update after each visit. Additional services may be arranged in writing and are covered by the terms of this agreement.

Reservations are required

Because I serve multiple clients, availability is subject to a confirmed reservation. Services are scheduled only after you submit a booking request and I confirm it.

Please request reservations through my website, by phone, or by email. If requests arrive at approximately the same time, website requests receive priority.

A valid payment card must be on file at the time of booking to secure payment of any amounts due under this agreement.

Late cancellations

For meet and greets and recurring walk clients: these are paid in advance and require 24 hours’ notice to cancel. Without that notice, the full rate applies.

Early returns

I’m happy to work with changes to your reservation as long as I have notice. If you’re coming home early, I need 48 hours’ notice before your return date. Without that notice, you’ll be charged the full amount of the original reservation.

Payments and reimbursements

Current rates are listed on my website and apply to any reservation made on or after the date they’re posted. I accept debit and credit card payments only. A card must stay on file, which I may charge for deposits, late cancellation fees, and any supplies your pet needs (food, medication, potty pads, leash, collar, harness, litter, etc.).

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total is currently required, though this may change with notice on my website. The remaining balance is charged to the card on file 5 days before your service starts. I won’t accept new reservation requests until any outstanding balance is paid.

Disputes

This agreement is governed by Texas law. Any dispute arising from this agreement will be resolved in Collin County, Texas, including in small claims court when that court has jurisdiction, regardless of where you, your home, or your pets are located.

Pet care supplies

You agree to provide all supplies needed for your pet’s basic care. If I need to purchase additional supplies, such as food, medication, or potty pads, you agree to reimburse me for those expenses.

Liability

I agree to provide services with care, reliability, and honesty. You agree not to bring claims against me unless your pet is harmed as a direct result of my negligence or intentional misconduct. For any other injury to a person or damage to property, I am not liable unless it results from proven intentional misconduct.

You acknowledge that working closely with animals carries inherent risks, including injury and the transmission of illness between animals. You understand and accept these risks for your pet during my care and afterward.

Medical treatment

Before services begin, please notify your veterinarian that your pet will be in my care. Provide your veterinarian with payment information and authorize them to communicate with me and provide care during your absence.

You are responsible for all veterinary expenses related to your pet’s care. Although I am not obligated to seek veterinary treatment, you authorize me to obtain care if I reasonably believe, in good faith, that your pet is experiencing a medical emergency.

I will attempt to contact you by phone and text using the numbers you provided before seeking treatment. If immediate care is needed or I cannot reach you, you authorize me to transport your pet to your designated veterinary facility or the nearest veterinary hospital and approve care on your behalf.

You agree to reimburse me for expenses incurred in obtaining that care, including transportation and treatment. You also release me from claims related to harm arising from actions I take in good faith under this authorization.

Health and vaccinations

You’re responsible for making sure your pets are current on all vaccinations required and recommended by the State of Texas. I require proof of current vaccination for rabies, distemper, and parvo. If your pet can’t receive the rabies vaccine, you agree to provide a rabies certificate or a signed letter of exemption from your veterinarian. Clients must disclose any illness their pet has, and whether it’s contagious, before their pet comes under my care.

Injuries caused by your pet(s)

If your pet bites or otherwise injures me, another person, or another animal, you agree to pay all resulting medical or veterinary expenses, related costs, and lost wages. You also agree to defend me against claims brought by anyone injured by your pet and hold me harmless from any resulting liability.

Damages

You remain responsible for your property and any property belonging to others. I am responsible only for damage caused by my negligence, including damage involving water leaks or electrical issues. If I notice a water leak, electrical problem, or structural concern during a visit, I will notify you promptly.

Escapes

Fences aren’t guaranteed. Whether it’s wood, metal, or electronic, there’s always some risk it won’t hold if your pet has access to a fenced yard. When I’m on a walk or outing with your pet, they stay leashed the whole time, no exceptions. Outside of my visit windows, I’m not responsible for an escape, injury, or loss, including through a doggy door or from time spent outdoors on their own, unless it happened because of something I did.

Access to home by others

Clients must disclose in advance if anyone else will be coming to their home while their pet is under my care. I prefer that nobody else come in during that time. That said, for liability reasons, I’m not responsible for damage to your property caused by a neighbor, friend, family member, handyman, or anyone else you allow into your home.

Security

You agree to secure your home before leaving and provide clear instructions for securing it during my visits. I am not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from a burglary.

Damage to home by pet

You are responsible for ensuring your home and yard are pet-proofed. I am not responsible for damage your pet causes to your home unless my negligence contributes to that damage.

Inclement weather

In severe weather or a natural disaster, I’ll use my best judgment to care for your pet and your home. I’m not responsible for damage or injury that results from decisions made under those conditions.

Weather and home comfort

Extreme heat: When the heat index reaches 100°F or higher, I may shorten outdoor time to quick potty breaks and provide indoor play and enrichment. I may also adjust walks at lower temperatures based on your pet’s needs and the pavement temperature.

Severe weather: During thunderstorms, lightning, or other unsafe weather, I may delay or shorten outdoor activities. Your pet will receive indoor care and comfort, with bathroom breaks when conditions allow.

Indoor temperature: Please keep your home at a comfortable temperature while you are away. If your home becomes too hot or cold for your pet, I may adjust the thermostat to maintain a safe environment and notify you of the change.

Pet behavior and daily care

Pet behavior and safety: For everyone’s safety, I cannot provide pet sitting for animals whose aggression, fear, or discomfort with handling prevents me from safely meeting their care needs.

Daily cat visits: Cats must receive at least one visit each day while you are away so I can provide care and check on their well-being. I do not offer every-other-day cat visits.

Reservations and payments

Holiday reservations: A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your holiday reservation. This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied toward your total service cost.

Late payments: Payment is due by the date shown on your invoice. A $15 late fee will apply if payment remains unpaid seven days after the due date.

Home access and security

Secure home access: For your safety and the security of your home, I do not accept keys left under doormats or in other unsecured locations. Please arrange a secure way for me to access your home before services begin.

Home security: Please make sure all windows, exterior doors, and doggy doors are securely locked before you leave your home.

Future services

By signing this agreement, you authorize me to accept future bookings by phone, online, or email without requiring a new signed contract each time. These terms may be updated without prior notice.

Service agreement

This agreement is between you (the client, owner, or customer) and June Collins (referred to here as “I,” “me,” or “the sitter”). To keep things clear and consistent for every client, this agreement is provided for you to review and sign. It becomes effective once signed electronically and stays in effect until either party ends it, as described above.

Questions about any of this?

Ask before you book, not after. I would rather have the conversation up front.
